About the Speaker

Ian Forrester QC is the UK judge at the General Court of the European Union. He has practised at the bar in Edinburgh, Brussels, London and New York, specialising in various aspects of EU law, including competition, trade, customs, internal market, intellectual property and constitutional human rights law. Mr Forrester argued in several landmark cases before the European courts, including Magill (1995), Bosman (1995) and Microsoft (2007). Before joining the Court in 2015, he led the Global Pro Bono Practice of White & Case, where he was partner.
