In this lecture, European Commissioner Phil Hogan will outline his perspective on the challenges and opportunities for European agriculture moving into the next Multiannual Financial Framework.

About the Speaker

Phil Hogan is European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, a position he has held since 2014. He was previously a Member of Dáil Éireann for Carlow-Kilkenny from 1989 to 2014 a Senator from 1987 to 1989. Mr Hogan served as Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government (2011-2014), during which time he chaired the European People’s Party’s Environment Ministerial Meetings. Within the Fine Gael party, he was variously Party Chair, Chair of the Parliamentary Group, Director of Organisation and National Director of Elections. He also served as Minister of State at the Department of Finance from 1994 to 1995.
