Can the UK-Driven Proposals to Limit Free Movement be Reconciled with EU Law?

Prof Niamh Nic Shuibhne
Professor of European Union Law
The University of Edinburgh

Thursday 3 March 2016
5pm to 6pm

50 George Square
Room G.04

This presentation will examine the proposed limits on free movement rights developed in response to the UK’s renegotiation agenda and evaluates them in light of the wider EU legal framework. Three main issues will be looked at: restrictions on in-work benefits; alleged abuses of free movement rights; and national discretion in the context of deporting EU citizens.
