Society hosts Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland's Place in Europe for open discussion
The Edinburgh University European Union Society hosted Michael Russell MSP, Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland's Place in Europe, today for an open discussion with University of Edinburgh students and staff on Scotland's European future.
The discussion served as an opportunity for members of the University community to put their questions, thoughts and concerns on Scotland's future relationship with the European Union to the Minister following the EU referendum in June.
Mr Russell also explained how the Scottish Government is responding to the eventual negotiations on the UK's withdrawal from the European Union.
The discussion was attended by Prof Charlie Jeffery CBE, Senior Vice Principal of the University of Edinburgh, and Europa Institute member. The event was organised and chaired by Anthony Salamone, President of the European Union Society, with the introduction by Darcy Hill, Vice President of the Society, and with support from the Society's Executive Committee.
